Sidewinder
Sidewinder
The Sidewinder Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) is a high altitude, multi fuel, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) asset. Capitalizing on the capabilities of today’s micro turbine engines, we have produced a class II vehicle capable of high altitudes (25,000 feet +), wide speed ranges, and heavy fuel burning, operating in a low vibration environment for ISR payloads as well as experimentation instruments. With more capability than a standard two-stroke piston engine, the Sidewinder can use various heavy fuels including diesel, kerosene and Jet A. The Sidewinder UAS is controlled by the UAV Solutions Portable Ground Control System integrated with a tracking antenna.
• Open architecture layout for various communication links and payloads
• Autonomous operation with operator guided modes
• Rolling take-off; retractable landing gear with hydraulic brakes
• 80 lb. thrust turbine engine
• Fuel capacity up to 15 gallons (extended tanks will be available)
• Aircraft grade aluminum and carbon fiber construction
• Hard points integrated for external stores
• Field proven avionics with thousands of hours of operation
• Ideal for ISR, experimentation and as a target drone
